My first thought looking over the menu was "man $20 for hot link fries, that sounds great but kinda pricy." 10 minutes, one very friendly employee, and one look inside that box and my mood changed to "oh, it makes sense now."
Y'all I'm a big guy, i can pack it away and I was real hungry and that box was an easy two meals (or shared.) Size aside it tasted fantastic: exactly the right amount of spice, great homemade fries, absolutely loaded with meat and cheese and glory.
Sammy's is not a fast food place, don't expect it to be, but it IS a ton of very good food fast.
Have been here one time years ago. Decided to try again. Dining room not open drive thru only. Order board down must order at window. Just a heads up. Good news is food is cooked to order so be patient. Food was good and shake although pricey is huge and delicious. We had a plain burger added bacon, pastrami burger, garlic fries, onion rings and a Oreo custard shake. Service was long as a car was before us but it's cooked to order so that was to be expected. Ambiance isn't the best but sometimes that is the sacrifice for good food.
Lemme just say, despite the rating I gave, the food is 5 stars. The seasoned fries and the pastrami is craveworthy. Absolutely craveable. The shakes are also great. This is the kind of food where you smell it and the mouth waters.
The service is 50/50. Sometimes you get friendly service, sometimes it's a bit cold.
The place is small, rundown, and looks a little busted. Yet there are people waiting for food in that small 4 table room. Dont eat in. Always do take out.
Food Network has been here. It's that legit.
Don't judge a book by the cover or this restaurant on the outside.
If you are a snob then this place is not for you and you will miss out some some awesome food.
The people are super nice and the food is super good.
Aside from the graffiti, trash around the neighborhood and drive through speaker not working.
The food is amazing. The Pastrami's are not that New York deli stuff that you can get anywhere in Vegas.
This pastrami is a completely different animal.
But it is stuff on par with famous L.A. pastrami places like, "The Hat", "Johnny's Pastrami", "Steven Burger I,II,and III", the "Astroburger" chain.
Thin cut fatty pastrami on a French roll with just mustard and pickles. Make sure you get some yellow chili peppers to go with it and squeeze that fiery hot juice onto your sandwich before taking a bite.
NO, there is no coleslaw, so don't ask. It is not that kind of deli place.
You order a sandwich of this kind with french fries or fried zuccini.
Again this place looks sketchy but it has been awarded food awards and featured on TV.
The lines are long and service is slow.
If you go in expecting this and know that the food is worth it, then you will come back despite all your senses telling you to run away.
I am warning you ahead of time.
This is not a place to impress your date.
But you will certainly impress your taste buds!
That relationship will last longer than your date anyway!
Cheers!

My dad showed me this place when I was just a kid, had to come back more than 10 years later and still just as good as when I first had it. I ordered the three square; a true amalgamation of fries and meats I assume they call it three square because it's for sure three square meals in one being topped with pastrami, carne asada, bacon and eggs featuring some pico liquid, cheese and jalapeño and pizza bites which turned out to be deep fried pizza rolls with parmigiana cheese. Honestly if I could give Sammy's more than 5 I would, the only draw back is their small size and cramp location. If you're in the area and you consider yourself a foodie stop by and grab something to go I promise you it's hard to be disappointed here.
Bomb food i especially love anything with the pastrami !! I also tried their mango shake and absolutely yummy as well.
